Who knew that we would be still facing a global pandemic one-year later? We want to thank all of our delegates for your patience. Regardless, our work must go on and new challenges call for new solutions. To that end, your National Executive has decided that UCTE will be hosting its first completely virtual convention from July 18 to 21, 2021.
We are excited about the opportunity to work in a different way that will still allow our members to deal with the business of the Union. The staff are working hard to figure out how to translate everything that we are used to doing and seeing into a virtual world. Some things will stay pretty much the same while others will require a different approach. Together we have an opportunity to do something new and forge a different path.
Please come back and visit this page often. As the planning goes forward, we will keep this page up to date. If you have any questions or concerns about the virtual convention, please reach out to your RVP or email us at email@example.com
Below please find a list of the dates and times of which you need to be aware. A full agenda will be provided to you in the coming weeks.

IMPORTANT DATES & TIMES
Since the convention will be taking place on a virtual platform and to encourage more participation, the National Executive has decided that there will be no registration fee for observers to participate at the convention.
Observers will have no voice or vote however will be able to watch the proceedings. It is a great way to share with your locals what is happening at the convention. Any expenses such as loss of salary will continue to remain the responsibility of the local.
Since the UCTE convention will now be held virtually, the nominations and campaigns procedures must also reflect this change. Enclosed in this package is a guideline for this process. The purpose of this guideline is to provide guidance and procedural consistency for the campaigning and nominations processes in advance of Regional Conventions. It is based on our past practice at conventions, PSAC Conventions, privacy legislation as well as recommendations for conducting this work virtually.
Information about the election procedures will be provided as soon as they are available.
